B8 6112 front coilovers – design and lift settings

Bilstein B8 6112 leveling systems are built around a 60 mm monotube strut and Bilstein coil spring.
Multiple snap ring grooves let you move the lower spring seat and fine tune front ride height while keeping OE style geometry and a controlled ride.

Typical lift heights for 5.3L V8 and 3.0L Diesel, 4×4, Crew/Double Cab:

Circlip location Approximate front lift*
#3 1.2″
#2 0.6″
#1 Stock height

*Lift values are typical and can vary slightly based on vehicle configuration, accessories, and actual curb weight.

  • Body diameter: 60 mm monotube for better heat capacity and damping control
  • Valving: large digressive piston tuned for off road control with a comfortable on road ride
  • Springs: Bilstein cold wound coil springs included in the 6112 kit
  • Seats: billet aluminum spring seats, snap ring adjustable
  • Assembly: we install new top mounts, bump stops, and boot covers so no spring compressor is needed

Ride and installation notes

  • Front coilovers arrive fully assembled with Bilstein springs, top mounts, bump stops, and boots.
  • Direct bolt on installation using factory style mounting locations.
  • A professional alignment is strongly recommended after changing front ride height or installing coilovers.
  • Remote reservoirs should be mounted with the included billet clamps, away from moving suspension parts and exhaust heat.

If you want your Trail Boss or AT4 to sit a touch taller up front, handle bigger tires, and stay composed off road and on the highway, this Bilstein 6112 and 5160 package is a true performance upgrade built around Bilstein’s own coil spring and damper technology.
