Questions and answers of the customers

I bought this lift kit I have about 2 months ago, I installed it on rear and on my driver side. but I’m having issues with my shock lining up with my new and old lower control arm. I’m assuming it may be a faulty shock?

Q I bought this lift kit I have about 2 months ago, I installed it on rear and on my driver side. b...... Read more
A please send photos of the issue It's highly unlikely the shock is faulty; misalignment is a common hurdle when installing the OME 2.5" Lift Kit (2000-2006 Tundra) because the new springs are much stiffer and hold the lower control arm (LCA) at a sharper angle. Common Fixes for Alignment Issues: Loosen the LCA Pivot Bolts: If the lower control arm won't drop low enough to meet the shock eyelet, loosen the large bolts connecting the LCA to the frame. This releases the tension on the bushings, allowing the arm to swing freely. Do not torque these back down until the truck is sitting on its own weight. Forum experts at Tundras.com emphasize this to prevent bushing "binding." Check Coil Indexing: If the bottom of the shock is twisted and won't line up with the LCA bracket, the top hat might be rotated incorrectly. The "tail" of the coil spring should usually face toward the outside of the vehicle, or as specified in the ARB Installation Guide. Disconnect the Sway Bar: If you haven't already, disconnect the sway bar links on both sides. The sway bar will fight you if one side is lifted and the other isn't, preventing the LCA from dropping low enough. The "Bottle Jack" Trick: Carefully place a small bottle jack between the frame and the top of the Upper Control Arm (UCA) to push the entire assembly down until the lower shock bolt can slide through.

    34. Is ease of assembly the main advantage of the coil overs¿
    35. 0 votes
Q Is ease of assembly the main advantage of the coil overs¿
A So how well a coil overs performs its function depends on how correctly it was picked up and assembled with a spring, depending on external factors such as additional weight from a heavy bumper or a winch. There have also been cases with other manufacturers that the not correctly assembled coil overs has failed due to the design features
    36. I have a 2006 Tundra Double Cab. Looking to improve the ride and handling , also improve towing our camper. My initial thought was to go with Bilstein 5100's to level the ride. Add a rear sway bar and if needed some airbags in the rear to adjust for the trailer weight when towing. That said what would your recommendations be. I know there is the OME, Toytec Boss etc. Ultimately i want the best ride/ handling wheather towing or not.

A The coils in this kit are 885 OME-T885 coils for D cab and additional weight. (Add Top Plate Spacers for 3″ of lift) If your plow is very heavy we can try to ask for OME-T886 coils for 200+ lbs front weight from aftermarket bumper or winch But without the plow the ride will become more rough
