Description
Bilstein 5100 RCD 4-6″ Lift Front and Rear Shocks for 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra

Bilstein 5100 RCD 4-6″ Lift Front & Rear Shock Set – 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra

If you’re running the RCD 4-6″ suspension lift on your Toyota Tundra and want OE-level reliability with true off-road control, this is the shock combo you’re looking for. Built on Bilstein’s proven 5100 Series monotube platform, these extended-length dampers are engineered specifically to deliver correct down-travel, controlled rebound, and fade-resistant performance at the taller ride height created by the RCD kit.

Kit includes four shocks: 2x Front F4-BE5-E980-T0 + 2x Rear F4-BE5-E981-T0. Sold as a matched set so you refresh the whole truck at once and keep chassis balance front-to-rear.

Fitment Warning: Requires a real 4–6″ RCD suspension lift. These shocks are longer than stock and are not correct for factory height, spacer/leveling kits under ~4″, or non-RCD bracket/coilover conversions. Unsure? Measure your current shocks (extended/collapsed) or contact us before ordering.

Why Choose Bilstein 5100 for Your Lifted Tundra?

  • Monotube Design: Large 46mm piston separates oil & high-pressure nitrogen for consistent damping under heat and hard use.
  • Digressive Valving: Firm control over big body motions with a more compliant response to smaller bumps for daily drivability.
  • Extended Travel Matched to Lift: Correct stroke length helps you use the suspension range your RCD kit was built to deliver.
  • Improved Stability & Towing Confidence: Reduces porpoising and uncontrolled oscillation often seen with tired OE shocks after a lift.
  • Corrosion-Resistant Finish: Durable coating for long service life in wet, salty, or off-road environments.
  • Direct Bolt-On: Designed to install using standard tools; no fabrication when used with compatible RCD lift components.

Vehicle Fitment

Fits: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 Toyota Tundra models equipped with an RCD 4-6″ suspension lift system. Covers most trims (SR5, Limited, TRD, Platinum, etc.) as long as factory shock mounting points are retained per the RCD kit design.

If your truck uses aftermarket coilover conversions, long-travel race suspension, or mixed-brand lift components, please verify lengths below.

Included Parts

  • 2 × Bilstein Front Shock – F4-BE5-E980-T0
  • 2 × Bilstein Rear Shock – F4-BE5-E981-T0

Total: 4 shocks (front pair + rear pair).

Key Dimensions

Position Part # Extended Length Collapsed Length Stroke
Front F4-BE5-E980-T0 29.52″ 20.81″ 8.71″
Rear F4-BE5-E981-T0 28.30″ 18.83″ 9.47″

Measurements are eye-to-eye length. Always compare to current setup and bump-stop spacing when mixing components.

Install Notes

  • Designed to work with the bracketry / geometry established by the RCD 4-6″ lift kit.
  • Support the axle & control droop when removing old shocks; extended length can surprise techs if unrestrained.
  • Torque all hardware to Toyota / RCD kit specs with vehicle at ride height.
  • Alignment required after any suspension service or when replacing shocks on lifted trucks.
  • Recheck torque after 500 km (300 mi) of mixed driving.

Ride & Performance Expectations

Compared with worn stock-length dampers fighting against taller springs and altered geometry, the Bilstein 5100s restore proper piston position in the stroke. Expect noticeably tighter body control over freeway undulations, reduced brake dive, and more predictable rebound when landing off-pavement ledges. On washboard and fire roads, the digressive piston helps take the edge off chatter without letting the truck wallow.

Who Is This Kit For?

  • Tundra owners already running an RCD 4-6″ lift whose shocks are tired or leaking.
  • Builders refreshing a used lifted truck and wanting known-quality dampers.
  • Shops standardizing on a proven Bilstein spec for RCD-lifted customer vehicles.

Common Scenarios & Quick Answers

My truck only has a 3″ spacer level. Will these fit?
No. They are too long for small leveling kits and can cause topping-out damage.
I’m not sure which lift I have.
Measure current shock lengths (fully extended & at ride height) and compare to the spec table above, or send us photos of your front & rear shock mounts and crossmembers.
Can I buy just the fronts (or rears)?
We recommend replacing in matched pairs front & rear for proper balance; contact us if you need axle-only replacements.
Do these reuse my existing hardware?
Yes, typically stock or RCD-supplied bolts/washers are reused. Replace hardware if corroded or stretched.
Warranty?
Bilstein Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects for the original purchaser (non-commercial use). Wear items & improper installation excluded. Keep proof of purchase.

What You’ll Feel After Upgrading

Less bounce. Fewer white-knuckle moments when the truck hits a dip at highway speed. More confidence towing a camper or boat. And when the trail turns rutted, the Bilstein monotube keeps damping consistent even as the shock cycles and temps climb.

Ready to tighten up your lifted Tundra? Add this Bilstein 5100 RCD 4-6″ Shock Set to your cart, schedule install + alignment, and hit the trail knowing your damping is dialed.
