Description
Front OME 2883, 2884, 2885, 2886 Coils 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma

Front OME 2883, 2884, 2885, 2886 Coil Springs for 2005 – 2015 Toyota Tacoma

Perfect for daily drivers, overland builds, and heavy front bumpers. Old Man Emu (OME) coil springs are engineered by ARB for predictable lift, improved control, and superior durability on difficult terrain. These coils are designed specifically for the 2005 – 2015 Toyota Tacoma (6-lug models only) and deliver consistent ride height with or without added front weight.

Target Fitment

  • 2005 – 2015 Toyota Tacoma (PreRunner and 4WD)
  • Not compatible with 5-lug Tacomas
  • Designed to pair with OME Nitrocharger shocks (90000 series or equivalent)

Available Coil Options

All coils are sold in pairs. Choose the correct spring rate for your Tacoma setup:

  • OME 883 (ARB 2883): Approx. 1.5 inch lift. Ideal for trucks with no added front weight. Works as a leveling coil.
  • OME 884 (ARB 2884): For standard and extended cab models. Slightly firmer rate than 883.
  • OME 885 (ARB 2885): For Double Cab models or Tacomas carrying moderate added weight. Not recommended for stock shocks.
  • OME 886 (ARB 2886): Heavy-duty coils for Tacomas with 200 lbs or more of added front weight (steel bumper, winch, skid plates). Not compatible with stock shocks.

Shock Compatibility

For best performance and proper ride quality, OME coils should be paired with Old Man Emu 90000 shocks or other OME Nitrocharger struts. Note: 2885 and 2886 coils will NOT work with factory Toyota shocks.

Why Choose OME Coils?

  • Designed specifically for Tacoma load ranges and cabin configurations
  • Durable, shot-peened, and scragged for long service life
  • Excellent control on rough roads and off-pavement conditions
  • Consistent lift height under real-world loads

Important Fitment Note

Does NOT fit 5-lug Tacomas. Verify your truck uses the standard 6-lug suspension platform before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which coils are best for stock Tacomas?
OME 883 is best for no added weight and a mild, level stance.

OME 886 for 200+ lbs added weight. OME 885 if weight is moderate.

Can I run 2885 or 2886 coils on stock shocks?
No. They require OME 90000 series shocks.

How much lift will I actually get?
Expect around 1.5 inches on 883, increasing slightly with higher spring rates and additional load.

I have 2007 Tacoma Prerunner Access Cab V6 6ft long bed with stock front bumper nothing added 2” lift measured from hub to fender, I wondering which best 884 or 885 for my Prerunner that do pulling trailers like with 2 atvs or 18 ft boat or light Rv trailer and also I do carry work tools equipment etc in the back of bed. I expected to make my Prerunner ride smooth like butter on daily driver or light off-road. Which one I should get 884 or 885?

    2. Hello, I have a 2012 Tacoma Crew Cab v6 4x4 with 6' bed & factory tow option (6500lbs). I added a Dv8 front bumper and Harbor Freight 12k winch, estimated 4-500lbs of weight up front. Originally the OEM ride has no real lift to speak of. I have 5100's on front and rear already. I need between OEM & 2" ride height to keep the camper we occasionally pull level. Would the OME-T885 or 6's be a better choice? Also is there a rear helper leaf / spring option to pair the front coils? Thank you for your time.

A I have a 2014 Toyota Tacoma, double Cab, 4 WD , TRD Sport. I added the 886 Coils and 5100 shocks to compensate for my new front bumper (https://bumperstock.com/collections/steelcraft-toyota-tacoma-front-bumpers/products/steelcraft-70-13370-toyota-tacoma-2005-2015-hd-elevation-bullnose-front-bumper-winch-ready) and winch (https://www.roughcountry.com/pro-series-electric-winch-pro9500s.html). I went with the rope winch to save about 100 pounds on the front. I still achieved 3 inch lift. Without the bumper and winch weight, the front is going to be really lifted. I then added 5100 shocks and https://www.toyteclifts.com/tac-al-toytec-rear-add-a-leafs.html. This leveled the rear end and gave it a smoother ride. The alignment worked out also. Planning is the key.

A Hello, in order to figure out how much lift you need to level please take existing measurements from center of the wheel hub to the bottom of the fender. Difference between front and rear is how much lift you need to level. https://prntscr.com/gfgxwt From our experience rear is 2'' higher then the front from the factory, so adding 2'' rear blocks will no allow to level the truck. 883 coils will give you about 1.5'' front lift by themselves. Also you may get additional 1.5'' of frnt lift by using 2nd notch adjustment on the front 5100 shocks. Having more then 3'' of front lift is not recommended - can be harmful for the suspension. So to have the truck leveled you may lift the front by 3'' and rear - by 1'-1.5'' from stock Diff drop kit is recommended for 4WD trucks for 1.5'' of front  lift and more to increase the CV axles life.

    72. I have a 2015 Tacoma 4x4. I am going to run the Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks with new coils. I want to level the front. Later I want to install a 65 pound aluminum bumper and a winch. I want to make sure the front stays level after the later installs. What coil springs should I run to level and later hold the weight? Thank you

The difference it these coils is the weight needed to collapse them. The size 9uncollapsed length) is the same

      • OME-T884 coils are for std and x cab models - they have the lightest weight on the front (Add Top Plate Spacers for 3″ of lift)
      • OME-T885 coils for D cab and additional weight - these are medium coils. (Add Top Plate Spacers for 3″ of lift)
      • OME-T886 coils for carryimg 200+ lbs front weight from aftermarket bumper or winch. Can be called heavy duty coils.

    78. Im not trying to lift, only level my DCLB Tacoma. Will the 883s be enough? or should I go with the 884s because of the extra front end weight of the Double Cab vs the Reg cab/Ext Cab?

A Please take measurements from the ground to the top fender line of the front and read fenders. If you need only 1'' of front lift for leveling then please 883 coils for your Double Cab. If you need 1.5-2'' of lift for leveling the front end - the 884 springs will be better.

A 886 Coils will be the best for carrying 200+ lbs of additional front weight. 885 will give you a softer ride and can be recommended if you don't carry much weight in the cabin.
    84. Hi there, I have Bilstein 5100s with stock springs on my truck currently. They are on the highest setting for around 2.5" of lift I believe. I want to buy some new 5100s as I like these shocks, and in wondering which OME springs I should buy off you to create the same lift. I have a stock bumper and no winch. Would the best option be 884s on the lowest setting on the shock? Thanks

A Thank you for the details provided. All the springs - 884 885 886 - provide the equal lift height (about 3'' lift each). The difference in them is how comfortable the offoading will be with them. The toughness of the springs is different - they are designed for different weight. OME-T884 coils for std and x cab models (Add Top Plate Spacers for 3″ of lift) OME-T885 coils for D cab and additional weight. (Add Top Plate Spacers for 3″ of lift) OME-T886 coils for 200+ lbs front weight from aftermarket bumper or winch. So no matter 884 or 885 or 886 you choose your lift will be about 2,5'' . If you don't have a bumper and a winch and don.t carry much stuff please choose 884, if you have a double cab and carry additional weight - you may like 885.

A OME-T885 coils are designed for D cab and additional weight. Adding Top Plate Spacers may give you even 3″ of lift - so please do it carefully, because more lift can make the ride not so good and affect suspension life.

    90. I have the one full kit with dakars and 885 coils with top plate spacers. If I upgrade to the 886 for steel bumper and winch can I still add top plate spacers to keep my 3 inch lift up front? I know the 886 are taller then the 885 but I don't want to sag lower then 3 inch so I don't rub

A 886's are 656 #/in and are made to give you close to 3" of lift with 200+ lbs hanging off the front end (ARB bumper with a winch). Unless you're really putting a lot of weight up front, I wouldn't recommend the 886's. If you do go with them, I'd get the Nitrochargers instead of the 5100's. They seem to be a better match.

Q What size spacers does this kit use??
      A

These coils do not come with spacers, but the top plate spacer option provides approximately 1/2" to 3/4" lift.
